CTA Acoustics Introduces Major Breakthrough In Automotive Insulation at SAE NVH Conference
QuietBlend® (TM) material available for production parts first quarter of 2004 promises to improve thermal and acoustical properties of automotive insulation products
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- CTA Acoustics is taking a little peace and quiet and introducing it to the automobile industry with its new QuietBlend® (TM) material. The company introduced the revolutionary new material today at the SAE Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Conference in Traverse City.
QuietBlend® is a unique, patented blend of man-made and natural fibers that provides superior thermal and acoustical insulation for challenging automotive applications. The material exceeds the performance of current products used for acoustical absorption for automotive under-hood and under-body applications.

Quiet Blend(TM) is a next-generation material that takes the best characteristics of previous products, and improves upon them with better sound absorption, lower weight, and competitive cost. Many of today's automotive and commercial insulation products are made of fiberglass mat because it provides high performance at a relatively low cost. Other products in the market differ greatly, with many being less absorptive, heavier, or much more expensive than QuietBlend® .

including Kolano & Saha for acoustical properties and ACT Laboratories
and Bodycote for the material characteristics.
QuietBlend® will be available in production during the first quarter
of 2004 from CTA Acoustics' new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility,
now under construction, in Corbin, Ky.
